Lubron UK’s Stephen Smith Retires
Lubron UK’s Technical Manager, Stephen Smith, enjoyed a retirement buffet with his wife and some of his colleagues recently, but he isn’t leaving the company for good! After twenty years with Lubron UK and as one of the longest-serving employees, Stephen has gone part-time and is planning on spending more time with his family, particularly his grandchildren, and on his hobby of growing alpine plants.

“I’ve enjoyed every minute working at Lubron, and returning part-time gives me the best of both worlds. The water technology industry has changed, with the increased application of reverse osmosis over the past twenty years, and I have enjoyed learning about every aspect of the different industry sectors’ need for water. I’ve held a variety of positions during my time at Lubron; I joined as an engineer and have had different management roles.”

Joe Austin, Lubron UK’s Managing Director, says, “Stephen was with me when I founded the company, and I am delighted that he has agreed to stay on in a part-time capacity. His technical knowledge and high expectations of his colleagues have been a driving force for Lubron’s reputation for excellence, and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.”
