Disinfection and Sterilisation are of primary concern in today's hospital environment, particularly in combating HAI's (Hospital Acquired Infections). We understand that despite careful cleaning and sterilisation of equipment, bacteria and germs still linger and cause problems.

Disinfection
  • Best practice of design, chemical cleaning and sanitisation of water treatment and delivery systems.
Sterilisation
  • Maximum performance and efficiency of systems by providing treated water of a consistently reliable quality.
Renal Systems
  • Vital in maintaining high levels of water quality both pre and post treatment.
Humidification Solutions
  • Water purity plays an important role in limiting the risk from air and water borne bacteria. We offer specially designed units for the control of humidification.

Disinfection

Cleanliness and efficient disinfection are of prime concern in today's hospital environment. Despite governmental and private sector efforts to provide more modern, better designed and cleaner hospitals and healthcare facilities, by the use of JV's (Joint Ventures), PCT's (Primary Care Trusts), or PFI's (Private Fund Initiatives), bacteria and germs of differing kinds continue to cause problems at an alarming rate. Scrupulous cleaning and disinfecting of equipment and devices is critical in controlling the spread of infection and the importance of a good quality reliable source of water, which meets the required specified standard, cannot be under-estimated. Lubron seeks to offer expertise in the best practice of design, chemical cleaning and sanitisation of water treatment and delivery systems.

Sterilization

Sterilization is a primary objective for all seeking to fight against the HAI's (Hospital Acquired Infections) that seem endemic to our hospitals. Examples include MSRA (Methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus), pseudomonas aeruginosa, clostridium defficile, E.coli, to mention but a few, yet by the very nature of what hospitals must be with a thoroughfare of patients, staff and visitors and such germs all around us, the continuous struggle to stay in control will always remain. Again, ensuring good quality water plays an absolutely vital role, not only in hot and cold water supplies but also in the performance of washer disinfectors, steam generators, and autoclaves responsible for cleaning instruments, vital equipment and utensils. Lubron's philosophy is to ensure the maximum operating life and efficiency of the systems by providing treated water of a reliable consistent quality.

Renal Systems

Treatment for renal conditions will always be a major requirement for any modern healthcare service. It seems that even though there is a greater understanding of the causes of renal disease in our society, even higher levels of health education have failed to reduce incidence levels.

Renal dialysis water requirements are well established and Lubron's technical team bring high levels of expertise and experience to system design, supply, and aftercare support and maintenance of well-engineered water purification systems.

Implicit to these designs is the attention paid to making sure that water purification systems are reliable, easy to operate and adhere to best understandings of design. Due consideration given to sizing and positioning of pre- and post-treatment equipment such as filtration, not only to remove particulates and residual chlorine, but also chloramines and organics, water softening to prevent scaling of RO systems, as well as post-treatment disinfection to control bacteria and endotoxin development in storage and delivery systems. Critical areas of best resolving the dilemmas for spare capacity whilst providing optimum distribution velocities within delivery loops.

We also have a comprehensive appreciation of the role of modern materials of construction in maintaining the long-term performance of systems.

Humidification (HEVAC)

Water purity plays an important role here too, in helping to limit the risk from air and water borne infections. Lubron have invested in the research and development of specially designed units which overcome basic operational problems required for the fine control of humidification which are so important in providing the right environment in theatres, wards, and offices across hospitals. Lubron offers integrated systems with break tanks, CIP sets, buffer vessels, reverse osmosis units, ultra violet disinfection units and recirculation systems fully engineered into discrete packages. These can be required to satisfy demands not just in humidification but other areas too, where small volumes of high quality water are required. Overcoming issues of access, space, and to work smoothly in co-operation with other suppliers or partners to provide packaged solutions is essential.

Building Services and Project Management

Lubron works with all those involved in the healthcare environment, from architects and specifiers, consulting engineers and developers, building and M&E contractors, installers and fitters, to ensure that the most efficient and up-to-date equipment is supplied and properly installed.

Whether in partnership or at local level, Lubron works to achieve the greatest possible understanding of the technical and practical needs to assess potential problem areas. This is all designed to ensure that the selected solutions will be efficient and effective. Sometimes the project timeline may be critical, or the water quality and delivery issues may require extra consideration to achieve compliance.

The importance of ensuring the correct services and utilities are put in place cannot be over-stated. These include water at the correct flow and pressure, isolated electrical supplies as required, the correct drainage facilities and air supply. Sufficient access and space to operate and safely maintain the equipment is equally important.
